In this self help book for monsters(yes, you read that correctly) Ken guides his readers through the misunderstandings and challenges monsters face as they seek answers to their troubling questions. While this book is intended for the undead or mostly dead, everything from Frankenstein to ghosts, it will definitely entertain and open the eyes of the living. After all, have you given much thought to what you would do if you suddenly found yourself turning into a werewolf or you became a blood thirsty vampire? No? Well Ken has the answers you seek... read on.It's been said that if the first few pages of a story don't "grab" you then most likely you'll put the book down and move on. Well, no worries here! I'll have to admit the premise of a self help book for monsters sounded quite amusing. And yes, okay, I'll admit it.. I've been a die hard Fangoria reader for over two decades, but I tried not to let my bias be the motivation behind reading 'The I In Evil'. One of my favorite quotes from the book was "After all, it's hard to help yourself when you spend your life focused on the destruction of others" I mean, how can you put the book down after you read that line? For whatever reason, after I read the first chapter, images of "Beetlejuice" and "The Munsters" popped into my head..not that this story has anything to do with them, but the HUMOR was there almost instantaneously.Moving on, The I In Evil covers it all. No matter what type of creature you are, you'll find your piece of mind(no pun intended) somewhere in these pages. With a fresh approach to monster psychology, Ken cuts right to the bone with his dark sense of humor and compassion for the undead.Ken has done his research and knows his monsters inside and out. From the first page to the last, in his own dark, twisted way of making monsters seem more human or should I say human like, I believe the story accomplishes what it set out to. It's a brutal, no nonsense, and horrifically funny venture in the monster psyche.Should you read it? Absolutely! Here at Dead, Buried, and Back! magazine we're giving The I In Evil five out of five stars for it's creativity, dark humor and useful insight.
