I read it because I had not read it years ago, so thought I should so. I was surprised at how much I liked it.An easy to read book, one that stays with you.

By montjon@hotmail.com It is a very touching story with all the excitement and emotion of love only to realize that the one you love isn't who you think and the pain and sorrow of the emptiness. Also, emotional and disturbing real life pain and suffering of war.

Her writing is almost lyrical and gives me a wonderful sense of calm.One of Ours is touching in so many ways. Claude Wheeler's life is like others in its disappointment in love and accomplishment of goals that gave no satisfaction. His fulfillment of his life was in serving his Country during World War I. Here, we get to know the best of Claude. His courage and his bravery. My time was well spent in reading this fine novel.
