1081. William’s bloody conquest is over and Britain is under Norman rule. But one bastion of resistance remains: Wales. A divided land where brother fights brother and kings battle for power. The English use this to further their own ends, and while one king is tempted by an offer he cannot resist, the others wage war over long-forgotten feuds.
Gruffydd ap Cynan, true heir to the kingdom of Gwynedd, is in exile across the sea. When he hears of the betrayal of the Welsh people by the imposter in his throne, Gruffydd unites with Tewdwr, a monarch deposed by the traitors, and they forge an army from the ashes of their kingdoms. But Tewdwr’s wife and daughter—the source of much of the allies’ strength—are a weakness their enemies will exploit.
Betrayal, treachery and war await, but both men know they must fight to the bitter end, when the sundered lands of Wales are drenched...in the blood of kings.

ASHMAN By Amazon Customer I have to say that I am a huge fan of Kevin Ashman's "MEDIEVAL" series, so I couldn't wait for this series to start. I love the way Mr. Ashman develops the characters, I find myself really loving some and really disliking others. Mr. Ashman has a way of making me feel like I am riding along side these characters and experiencing the very life that they are experiencing. I have read numerous novels about Welsh Princes, English Kings and Templar Knights but never had I read a book in three days simply because I could not put it down. I hope I don't have to wait for too long for the second book in the series. Another well written book by Kevin Ashman.
6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. it does not disappoint when it comes to action and intrigue By Brooks Vandivort Kevin Ashman delivers once again in this tale set in the wind swept lands of Wales. While this book clearly sets the stage for several follow-up books, it does not disappoint when it comes to action and intrigue. As is often the case with Mr. Ashman's books the reader is transported to a vivid landscape that provides a heavy dose of "historical" and only enough "fiction" to keep it from reading like a history book. I particularly enjoyed learning more about the in-fighting between Welsh nobles and how that greatly hindered their ability to mount series threats to the English crown. If you enjoy historical fiction this is a must for your collection!

JEAKINS A LAND DIVIDED BY K.M. ASHMAN is a historical novel set in the 11th century. As a historical novel I found it slow to start but once it got a bit of momentum it was really good. The book doesn't hold punches in the description of the bloody times. Each king fighting for not only his territory, his castle his lands but his very life and the lives of his family and the people of the village that he rules. Good character and plot structure I found myself transported back in time to a very brutal age and really loved it! As a historical fiction junkie I really got into the book.I received the book from goodreads in exchange for a review.
