About the Author Brian Patrick Higgins is a former sports journalist for the Savannah Morning News, Phoenix Gazette, Fort Worth Star-Telegram and Oakland Tribune. He served on the board of directors for the Football Writers Association of America. A native of Columbus, Ohio (and avid Ohio State Buckeyes' fan), he's trained dozens of NFL players how to maximize their media exposure. In 2012, Brian founded one of California's most popular - and zaniest - day-hiking clubs, The Circle of Trust & Beer.

Anyone who has logged miles on their own life's trail will relate to this book. Your pendulum of emotions will swing from laugh out loud funny to tears welling in your eyes. The author writes with quick wit and humor. He also has the ability to write with an honesty and tenderness that touches his readers. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Get a Good Look Before Dark.
3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Funny and Contemplative By tracy The stories Brian shares are sometimes touching, sometimes cynical - and always very, very funny. But more than just the amusing stories themselves, it's Brian's inventive ability to turn a phrase that literally had me laughing out loud. The book is peppered with apt and hilarious details. Although trained as a journalist and working in public relations, this book shows Brian's true calling to be where philosopher and stand-up comic meet.

I was reading on a plane and the guy next to me kept asking why I was laughing so much. The stories chronicle some amazing life experiences with humor and poingnancy, and Brian Higgins is a cross between Hemingway and Tucker Max. I highly recommend this book.
