Early Civil War history comes alive By Lovin' Earth Great book about a young girl from the north living in Charleston at the beginning of the Civil War. Similar reading level and style to the Little House on the Prairie books. We are planning a trip to Charleston for a family vacation and I was looking for something to read to the children before the trip to help them understand and appreciate the history in Charleston. This book was perfect.
